BrazilBR
In the space of a year Brazil has rewritten its rules for games. Every game now needs a rating before it can be sold, loot boxes stay switched off until a player proves they are an adult, and a provisional measure banned betting in September 2026, a ban Congress has yet to vote on. There is a big audience to protect. Three in four Brazilians aged 16 to 55 say they play, 80 percent of internet users aged 10 to 15 played online in 2025, and the country's most influential esports personality, Gaules, streams Counter-Strike on Twitch, YouTube and Kick at once. What Brazil makes is smaller: 1,042 studios earned an estimated 251.6 million dollars in 2022, and consoles carry a 20 percent federal tax before anything else is added. The one figure still missing is what Brazilians spend. The 13 billion reais a year you will see quoted names no source.

- 75.3%of 16 to 55 year olds say they play
- 52.8%of players are women
- 44.1%prefer to play on a phone
- 1,042studios in 2022, by the trade body's estimate
- 13,225people working at them
75.3 percent of the Brazilians aged 16 to 55 that Pesquisa Game Brasil surveyed in March 2026 play digital games, down from 82.8 percent in the 2025 edition. Women are 52.8 percent of players, and 44.1 percent prefer the phone, against 24 percent the console and 21.1 percent the PC.
38 percent of internet users aged 10 and over played online in the previous three months in TIC Domicílios 2025, as in 2023 and 2024, 45 percent of men and 31 percent of women. Among those aged 10 to 15 the share fell from 89 to 80 percent, and among those 60 and over it rose from 9 to 15.
Abragames' 2023 survey estimates 1,042 studios and 13,225 people working at them in 2022, 58 percent of the studios in the Southeast. 58 percent of developers sold abroad, mainly to the United States and Latin America, and 44 percent of studios name computers as the platform that earns them most.

Wildlife Studios led Brazil's developers on both of the trade body's measures. Abragames' 2022 survey found it the revenue leader in 2015, 2018 and 2021 among Brazilian developers with games in AppMagic's 500 top-grossing apps, and names the ten largest by LinkedIn headcount as Wildlife, Afterverse, Aquiris, Fanatee, Puga, Sioux, Kokku, Gazeus, Pipa and Tapps.
Epic Games has owned a Brazilian studio since 2023. AQUIRIS, the Porto Alegre developer of Horizon Chase and Wonderbox, announced on 19 April 2023 that it was joining Epic Games as Epic Games Brasil, Epic's first studio in Latin America, to make content within Fortnite.
Riot Games runs Brazil's League of Legends league itself, and restores it as an independent league in 2026: after a year inside the League of the Americas, the CBLOL (Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends) returns under its own name, with one place each at First Stand, the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.

Research note
Quote Pesquisa Game Brasil with its edition and sample, because it publishes no headcount and its sample and findings swing between editions. It heard 14,825 people in January 2023, about 6,282 in 2025 and 7,115 aged 16 to 55 in March 2026, and found men a majority of players in 2023 and women in 2022 and 2026.
Research note
Do not read Abragames' studio chart as a growth series. Its 133, 375, 1,009 and 1,042 developers set the respondents of the 2014 and 2018 censuses beside the estimated totals of the 2022 and 2023 surveys, so the 177 percent growth since 2018 the 2023 report quotes compares one kind of count with the other.

Where players talk
Most games talk runs through closed apps or across several streaming platforms at once, so little of it can be read from outside.
Closed
WhatsApp is closed
66 percent of internet users aged 9 to 17 use their own profile every week, and none of it is publicly searchable.
Closed
Discord is closed, and Go Live suspended
The data protection authority suspended Go Live, its live video in closed servers, on 12 August 2026. The platform is not blocked.
Streaming
Streamers use three platforms at once
- Twitch
- YouTube
- Kick
Gaules and Baiano, second and fourth by hours watched in 2025, broadcast on all three at once, so no one platform's figures are Brazil's.
Suspended
X suspended nationwide, 30 Aug to 8 Oct 2024
The Supreme Court suspended X nationwide from 30 August to 8 October 2024, so Brazilian X data has a gap.
Research note
Do not assert a Brazilian games venue hierarchy, or repeat a board's claim to be the largest. The national surveys count activities and profiles, not what is discussed, Pesquisa Game Brasil's free report sits behind a lead form, and no independent measure of any Brazilian board's scale was found.

Research note
Abragames' industry survey has no fixed calendar, so quote the edition with the figure. The 2022 edition covers 2020 and 2021, the 2023 edition measures 2022 and was published on 28 February 2024, and a third edition, run with Go Gamers, began sending questionnaires in September 2026 with no publication date.
